Welcome to the NUS Division of Industrial Design's 2012 Interview Preparation Kit.

If you are a shortlisted candidate or a potential applicant interested to find out about Industrial Design, we have prepared a list of internet resources, in the form of articles and videos, as an interview and exposure preparation kit.

We strongly recommend that you follow up on the suggested list of reading and viewing to be adequately inspired and informed.

Note that these information will be discussion material during the candidate interview process.

Preparation Kit Structure and Overview

The prep kit is divided into 3 sections as follows:

 

• Section 1 - Videos

This section has a set of 9 suggested streaming videos featuring internationally renowned designers and design companies. The 9 videos embedded here are part of the suggested viewing list. Under each video, there are links to supplementary videos from similar designers/companies should you find that you are particularly interested and would like to explore more in-depth.

 

• Section 2 - Web Search Task

Here, you will be guided through a quick and easy web image search task.

 

• Section 3 - Short Reading List

In this final section, you will be guided through a set of suggested reading materials readily accessible off the internet.

 

It is recommended that you cover the materials/tasks in the suggested sequence as laid out on this page. It is also a good idea to further explore the supplementary links if you find yourself particularly interested in certain areas. Enjoy!
